A salon may be the least likely place for toy collectors to gather but its huge collection of Be@rbricks toys displayed prominently within Salon Solo drew attention from serious Be@rbricks fans and curious eyes alike.

Don’t get too excited, Salon Solo is not intending to sell their Limited Edition and highly coveted Be@rbricks! Instead, they are hoping that the extensive Be@rbrick collection serve as inspiration for both customers and stylists.

That certainly seems to work as we find our eyes drawn to specific Be@rbricks each time we come by. For Agent G, it was transparency and vulnerability of X-Girl Bearbrick that draws her in but for Agent J, it was the whimsical and colourful baby Be@rbrick that resonated with them.

Customers are free to pick up a Be@rbrick and bring it to their seat. Not just a collectible toy, the Be@rbrick acts as a muse as you can now discuss the vibe you want to achieve with your stylist – with the bear as a focal point.

As much as the stylists here are avid Be@rBricks collectors, the experience here isn’t all about Be@rBricks. While some find Be@rBricks a novel idea to try in Salon Solo, it is at the end of the day, the strong team of veteran stylists Derek, Patrick and Catherine that gets customers coming back again and again. Their strong skill, honed from more than 10 years in the industry, allows them to understand your hair texture and needs very quickly – and with the chosen Be@rbrick as a visual aid, design a hairstyle that best fits your personality and frame of mind.

It isn’t just us that say so. Talk to any one of their customers and you’ll hear them raving about their AH-MAZING haircuts and colours that last for months – all without the stylist yapping at you the whole time.

Terrible Service given to a first time customer

I never even got to experience anything as I was turned down after I made my appointment and having to wait nearly an hour. I was just going to get a consultation to see what could be done about my hair. If they think I’m there for a free service, that’s not the case. I’m very careful about what is done to my hair and that’s why I wanted to consult first. I booked with Allen. It was a busy period and it was stacked. A lady came out after I waited a long time saying she didn’t recognize me. I’m a first time customer that’s why. She tried to see if there were any seats but then said Allen was running behind. I was told by Allen to come back another day. This is where it gets terrible. I try to confirm a week ahead coz of my work schedule and he tells me he won’t take me despite me booking early. I get auto cancelled. As I left that day, I saw another woman squinting at me from across the counter trying to figure out where she had seen me. I’ve been to other places. Not many though. I am not used to going to places here as I have come back from overseas. I didn’t feel welcome and I suspect some colleague in there told Allen not to take me. If they think I’m a bad customer, I AM NOT! Maybe someone has given my rotten service and I had the right to take them up on it. The thing that can be improved on is that not everybody has a phone an email for auto booking system and for treatment like this, I won’t give it. Also they should answer their phone. No proper reception there? They should get someone who is trained. Also they shouldn’t pick their customers as it means no business. You only refuse someone if there is a very good reason. Next, to listen to a co-worker to not take a customer is beyond terrible. How do you know what goes on with the customer? Also can the co-worker be trusted in saying that about others? No such thing as a rubbish co-worker that gossips? That’s what these people do. NEVER auto cancel a customer or block them from requesting. They can always walk in and someone should take them otherwise why are you working there? How would the salon know we are not agents seeing how the place runs? In this case, it’s a miserable failure. Some people have jobs like this, paid or unpaid. Lastly verifying with the salon is not easy as they will deny it and only want good reviews there. For all I know, they got this organization to block me from contacting or reviewing. I’ve never heard of such terrible customer service. I will not go to a place where the owner doesn’t care about their customers. I know how I’ve been treated and won’t lie about it. The other customers that go here are lucky not to get bias treatment.
